It is ridiculously easy: By simply demanding that children should be better off than they were at home, when they are placed in fosterhomes or institutions. - And help the child at home and in the family if this demand can not be fulfilled or proven likely.

(When looking at all accessible research, such proof is certainly hard to find, simply because most children in public care do not seem to benefit from it.)

It should also be in the child`s interest, shouldn't it? And in the interest of all parties, really?

Pretty obvious, I would say.

But it is not of the interest of the system that is supposed to be serving the interest of the child. A sad and ironic fact. Many institutions start off by serving the people, but end up serving themselves. There is nothing new or shocking about the nature of this.

However, at this point the system simply needs to be overthrown or controlled from the outside.

Such an act would take both understanding and courage. Regrettably, so far the politicians in charge have neither of these.
