Girl's health deteriorating when hospital in Boston sets aside her medical diagnosis and treatment and comes up with a psycho-babble one instead A 15 year old girl seems to be going down-hill, from fully functional to wheel-chair etc, when a children's hospital in Boston has pushed out a medical diagnosis from another hospital and treatment, in favour of the psycho-babble diagnosis of a "psycho-somatic" problem "originating in the family". When the parents objected, they were banned from the premises, forbidden to speak about the case, the CPS were brought in to take charge, the court went along with it, and the girl is not allowed to come home but is to be put in foster care. - Positive: A number of politicians have been active to have the girl released back to her family.

It is well to remember that much of the mad psychology spreading viciously all over the world, like groups of women "discovering" under therapy that they suffered from repressed memories of child sexual abuse, started gaining terrible force exactly in Boston, e.g under the steam of psychiatrist Lenore Terr. Massachusetts has a bad record of CPS abuse also (
Social Workers Meet Counter Protest at State House). Note that the first file linked to says:
"Beau Berman, a local investigative reporter from Fox CT, has covered this story in depth. You can watch all of his reports put together in one timeline here. In the video report below, he gives background information regarding Justina’s case, showing how Boston Children’s Hospital has a history of seizing children from parents." - I don't have much trouble believing it.
The Dr Phil program is quite good and clear. He has trained in forensic psychology and/but his programs are mostly very good and realistic. I have seen many of them over a few years and often applauded what he says. Only: the danger, sometimes alarming, is that he is too prone to trust in therapy, various experts and diagnoses, and the CPS. He is uncritical of polygraph testing (lie detector tests), it seems. In this program I certainly object to what he says about Münchhausen being a real disease or syndrome. Also, his doctor in the show, Dr Sophy, and a lawyer, Areva Martin, like Dr Phil seem to talk of the case as if it is a rare exception from an otherwise sensible and dependable child protective service. Dr Phil is very lenient with the excuses from the hospital and the CPS of not being able to comment because the case is that of a minor.
